Apple iPhone Fold takes shape in 3D-printed comparison

Ana sayfa / News

Apple iPhone Fold has surfaced again through a detailed 3D-printed dummy, giving shape to long-running rumors. This mockup places Apple’s first foldable phone next to familiar devices, including the iPhone 17 Pro Max and popular foldables from Oppo. Instead of chasing size alone, Apple seems focused on compact proportions, which changes how the device feels both folded and open.

Recent leaks suggest Apple plans a smaller outer screen than most foldables. The dummy reflects a 5.3-inch secondary display with a wide 3:2 aspect ratio. That choice keeps the folded device shorter than typical phones, even if it grows slightly wider.

When placed beside the iPhone 17 Pro Max, the folded Apple iPhone Fold appears noticeably shorter. Even so, one-handed use may still feel tricky. Reaching the far corners with a thumb could require grip adjustments, especially given the added width.

The design changes dramatically when opened. The inner display stretches to 7.7 inches, which creates far more usable screen space than Apple’s largest slab phone. The aspect ratio plays a big role here.

Instead of a tall, narrow canvas, the unfolded screen looks broader. As a result, apps, videos, and multitasking layouts feel less cramped. Even so, two-handed use seems unavoidable once the device opens fully.

Looking at current foldables helps put this design into context. Oppo’s earlier models aim for portability, yet still differ from Apple’s rumored approach.

Key comparisons include:

Among these, the Find N5 feels massive next to Apple’s concept. Apple’s model instead sits closer to the Find N2 in spirit, though its wider proportions change how content fits.

Many users miss compact phones. Apple appears to acknowledge that gap here. A shorter folded body could slip into pockets more easily than taller foldables.

At the same time, the wide outer display may feel more tablet-like. That balance between width and height defines the entire design philosophy.

Current expectations point to a September 2026 reveal. That timeline leaves room for changes. Apple often refines hardware late, especially for new categories.

For now, this 3D-printed dummy offers a grounded preview. It suggests a foldable that values comfort over spectacle. If the final product follows this path, Apple’s first foldable may feel quietly different rather than loudly futuristic.
